We are aware of the situation, so we are now going to look at what goals we can set ourselves.. which dropped the most in reading skills, something which by no means happened in sciences or in mathematics. If we compare the data for 2000 and for 2006 on the PISA report, Spain was the OECD country. Regulations, organisational, methodology…. If things aren’t going as well as they should, what do we need to do to improve?. Josefa Pérez de Nova. Through assessment I can gain an image of what I am doing and I can – if I am clear about what I want – readjust the processes.. we cannot ask the same of them all. the educational system.. At almost all the schools I know, almost all the assessment processes focus on content. There is another question: Who is to blame for all this? I don’t want to address that. This is one approach and, up to now has always been the approach but, what if we were to do just the opposite? What result do I want? . One of the things which seems quite clear is that we say: "assessment comes at the end of the teaching-learning process". In skills assessment, we are just starting out, practically.. In order to obtain the result, bearing in mind the assessment model and with its perspective, what measures should I adopt? . Headmistress, Isabel Perillán y Quirós Secondary . It seems that society in general and as a whole is only interested in this kind of issue when there is data available. Achievable goals.. This needs to be our starting point. Who is responsible for those good results? . Because I want assessment to be constructive, I want to look at how things are done where the results are good.. Those societies which make education – in this case learning or acquiring reading skills – a common goal.. - We mustn’t ignore, for example, the fact that we have different types of students in the classrooms and that, obviously, . We really need to bear this in mind, because through this echo, we – educators and authorities. all of us in theory – can see what society expects of. which make it possible for each student to do what he/she is capable of doing. Perhaps some readjustment is necessary because, in all probability, both types are necessary and will complement each other.. We place it at the end.. We must think of teaching, learning and assessment processes. in charge of educational matters, i.e. - What evaluation can we make of our level of reading in comparison with other countries around us? 9f3baecc53
