Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a large garden to grow vegetable. Because of this, many people are simply put off even trying. It is possible however, to grow a selection of vegetables in containers. Not only do they take up far less space than a garden, but you can always move them around and place them somewhere else. Vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, beans and peas, as well as some that you would not expect such as carrots and potatoes are all easy to grow in containers. So..get your gardening gloves out, and give it a try!

I am concerned with my tomato reply Submitted by bridges9 on June 29, 2011 - 10:52pm I am concerned with my tomato plantId send pics as I have been photo documenting every weekContainers are a great way to get started, can be bountiful, and you can begin your new avocation in small stepsmake sure its potting soilFor some plants, youll need deeper containers

(See the list at right.) Plants with deep root systems will be stunted and unhealthy if they don't have adequate spaceblack-eyed peas reply Submitted by Almanac Staff on May 18, 2017 - 4:39pm Im not sure if this is what you might be thinking of, but Victory Seeds and others offer a Big Boy southern pea (aka cowpea or black-eyed pea) that is fairly largeJust dont buy the garden soil and use it in containersYou'll want to think about weight (once the pot is filled with wet soil and plant material it's going to be very heavy)Green up 07f867cfac
