Insights are from the vital sector of Nigeria’s political economy - petroleum. This sector has not accelerated the momentum, created by many decades of abundant natural and human resources in its domain. The insights are intended to point the way; each can contribute to accelerate transformation, in line with typical aspirations of the vast majority in the third world. The trilogy situates the issues, in a historical and developmental context. Accordingly, Book 3 is preceded by Books 2 and 1, the latter starting with a review of Ashton’s “the industrial revolution" as the catalyst for development of capitalism. This is followed by reviews of Hobbes, on life in the “state of nature", Adam Smith’s treatises on capitalism as the watershed in man’s rush for the “Wealth of Nations", and many more philosophical gems of insight.
