There are so many things I like about this movie. The story is simple and original, not over complicated. Annie has to get to LA for a job interview and Charlie needs to get her there, even though it's really the one place he can't go, but there's so much more going on below the surface of this movie. Many will call it a car movie, or an action, because it does pay homage to some brilliant car chase scenes. Kudos on the music too. Most will call it a comedy because it's funny, in a very authentic way too. But when I saw this film I was surprised at how much more there was to it. I think what I like most is that fact that it's a romance, a romance carefully wrapped up and securely hidden in a action/comedy. For someone who loves Smokey and the Bandit as well as historical romances, with a husband who would watch Predator every night if he could, this is sort of a perfect movie for us. Our movie. Not that many ratings yet, but how can this movie have a 6.1?? Serious? I saw it in the sneak preview yesterday and had some great laughs, certain parts are hilarious. Best of all, didn't knew anything about this movie, so wasn't expecting anything... Turned out to be one of my better movies this year so far! Some titles are hyped, like Batman The Dark Knight Rises, and although I enjoyed it, this movie messed up my emotions way more!The acting of the whole cast suits the flow and spirit of this movie perfectly. Furthermore, I think Dax Shepard did an outstanding job being both the director, writer and main character. Must see! The movie feels like a grown-up version of little boys making whooshing noises and staging collisions while playing with toys on a living room floor.
