Finals week was the week that every student dreaded whether you were in high school or in college. Liam and (Y/N) were no different. That week and the few weeks leading up to it were the most stressful weeks of the school year. Well, not including the daily stress of surviving the supernatural beasts of Beacon Hills. School was a whole different story, but the added stress of anything supernatural waiting to make its move or dealing with something that already has made its move, makes it difficult to study when needed and keep grades up to par.
Both (Y/N)’s and Liam’s parents were somewhat sticklers for having good grades, but they understood extenuating circumstances. So (Y/N) and Liam tried to study whenever they had an open chance, especially during finals week. And that’s exactly what they were doing in Liam’s bedroom tonight, studying for their last exam of the semester, which also happens to be their toughest, algebra. The fact that it was both their worst subject was one of the many things that they had in common. They just couldn’t grasp some of the formulas, and don’t even get them started on adding letters to those formulas.
“Ughh! This is ridiculous." She complained from his bed as she erased the same problem for the umpteenth time. “Whose bright idea was it to go and add letters to these already ridiculous formulas anyways?"
Liam couldn’t help but laugh a little at her question, but he understood where she was coming from. “Who knows…" He responded as he tried to figure out his own problem. “Which one are you on?" They were both working on a study guide that the teacher provided them with, and had decided to do it on their own and if they get stuck, then they would help each other. “Maybe I can help."
(Y/N) pushed her paper over to him and pointed at the problem, “number 10."
“Okay, I already did that one. Do it again, and show me what you did, then I’ll see if I can see where you went wrong." Liam suggested to the frustrated girl next to him.
“Ugghhhh…" She sighed as she put the paper back in front of herself so she could attempt to solve the problem again. “Fine, but I’m taking a break after this."
“Sounds like a plan." He smiled back at her then leaned over and gave her a quick kiss. He actually found it adorable when she got frustrated over things she couldn’t quite figure out.
(Y/N) and Liam had been best friends for a long time, but had only been dating for a couple months now. Not much had changed in the transition from friends to boyfriend-girlfriend. The only things really different is that they go on actual dates and kiss…. a lot. They had both come to an agreement that it was their new favorite thing to do together, as cheesy as that is. Needless to say, they weren’t afraid of a little PDA.
The funny thing is, that’s how they started dating in the first place. It all started with a simple game of truth or dare. Malia wanted to play because she never had before, and of course, being the blunt werecoyote that she is, dared Liam to kiss (Y/N) when it was her turn like it was no big deal. Liam shook his head a little as he remembered the embarrassing moment from a few months back.
Flashback:
The whole pack, plus (Y/N) and Mason, had made a trip out to Lydia’s lake house to have a “pack weekend" that would hopefully be stress free. They never get time to just be teenagers often so they try to take advantage of it when they can. Sure, they could go all out and throw the best party, but they’d rather avoid that chaos. Their motto was ‘the less people, the less chance of something going wrong.’ They just wanted to relax.
It was their final night there and they were trying to figure out something to do considering they had already done everything else. Everyone threw random ideas out there but each got shot down by one person or another. “What about truth or dare?" Kira blurted out as a last resort without seeing any issues with it.
“What’s that?" Malia asked before anyone could object to the game that everyone felt that they were too old for and/or hated.
“It’s where someone starts and asks another person ‘truth or dare.’ If they say truth, then the person who asked them gets to ask them any question and they have to answer truthfully. And if they say dare, then the person gets to dare them to do anything and the person has to do it." Kira explained the game to the inexperienced werecoyote, while everyone else secretly hoped that Malia didn’t find the game appealing.
“Oooo! Let’s play that!" Malia said with excitement and everyone else sighed.
“Are you sure? Some of the questions or dares can get pretty intense…" Stiles tried to convince her out of it, but he was sure that it was no use.
“So?" She responded.
“Okay, fine. Who goes first?" Stiles questioned, and so the game began.
Much to the pack’s surprise, it was a lot more fun than they had anticipated. Everyone had come up with pretty easygoing yet fun questions and dares. But now it was Malia’s turn and everyone was nervous about where she was going to take this game because of how blunt she can be.
“Hmmm…" She started as she looked around at her group of friends. “Liam," He looked up at her from where he sat next to (Y/N) on the floor. “Truth or dare?" She questioned.
Liam thought about it for a minute. He really didn’t know what route to go because either route could be brutal. Then again, taking truth could be the easy way out and he wanted to be braver than that in front of his friends, especially (Y/N). “Dare."
Malia smirked a little and Liam realized he made the wrong choice. “Kiss (Y/N)."
Both Liam and (Y/N) looked at Malia shocked at what she had just dared him to do. Everyone else was even a little shocked by the dare, but they tried to hide their smirks and chuckles because they all knew it would happen eventually. It was just a matter of how and when. “Welllll… We’re waiting." Malia said after a few minutes of silence.
Liam looked over at (Y/N) next to him who looked back at him. Sure he wanted to kiss her, but he didn’t know what she would think, and he didn’t want her to hate him for it. Then again, it was a game after all. If she hated it, then he could always use that as his excuse. So he decided he was going to go for it. He really had no choice though, especially since everyone was sitting there staring at the two of them. Mark this down as the most awkward first kiss of his life.
He locked eyes with (Y/N), they leaned in towards one another, closed their eyes, and kissed. It was short and sweet, but none-the-less perfect for a first kiss, especially considering the situation they’re in at the moment. After which, everyone woohoo’d and yelled ‘finally!’ while (Y/N) tried to hide her rosy cheeks from embarrassment and Liam hid his embarrassment by putting on a cocky/proud smile.
End Flashback.
And that’s the story of their first kiss. A week later, Liam asked (Y/N) out on a date and they’ve been together ever since. Some of their friends even argue that they’re even more inseparable now than they were before, but they were actually pretty much the same. In fact, they sometimes even try to spend more time apart so they don’t become that annoying couple that everyone hates, but that is a lot harder than it sounds when they’re both part of the same group of friends.
“Seriously. I keep getting the same answer, and it’s different from the answer on the study guide. I’m starting to think the teacher just got it wrong." (Y/N) stated as she pushed her paper over towards Liam. “Wouldn’t be the first time." She concluded and looked at him with a smile.
Liam chuckled and shook his head as he looked over the problem again. “No, it wouldn’t, but she’s not wrong this time. You are."
(Y/N) pouted at him, “But hoooowwww???" She emphasized the whole question. “That’s it. I’m done. Fail me now. I’m hopeless." She sighed in frustration as she laid her head on the bed in front of her, face first.
Liam couldn’t help the laugh that escaped his mouth, and she rose her head up and glared at him, to which he immediately shut his mouth trying to stifle his laughter. “How about you let me show you where you went wrong?" He offered.
“Nope. I’m hopeless. There’s no point." She muffled into the blankets, not bothering to lift her head up.
Liam chuckled again at his girlfriend’s dramatic tendencies, it wasn’t anything new. She was a very dramatic person when she wanted to be, whether it be serious dramatics or sarcastic dramatics. He always tells her that she should try out for the drama club, but she has yet to take him serious about it. “Okay then, how about that break you mentioned?" He offered with a smirk playing on his face.
She instantly perked up at the mention of a break then pounced on him. He was on his back on the bed now as she straddled him and peppered his face with kisses. “Thank. Goodness. I. Was. Getting. A. Headache." She said between kisses and then finally planted one on his lips.
The kiss got more heated and Liam ran his hand under the back of (Y/N)’s shirt and (Y/N) ran her fingers through his hair. He pulled her body closer to his, engulfing his arms around her waist. Taking more control, he rolled them over until he was the one hovering over her this time, putting his weight on his arms so not to crush her small frame. Liam leaned down and left a trail of kisses from her jaw, to her collarbone, and then back up to her lips.
(Y/N) loved having Liam in control like that, but she felt the urge to be in control once again. She started to make the move to flip them back over, but her plan failed about halfway through as they ran out of bed and fell right off with a big *THUD* on the floor. They had held onto each other during the fall, and (Y/N) ended up on top of him. Once they realized they were safe on the ground, they looked at each other and burst out laughing.
“Guess that’s our sign to get back to studying, huh?" Liam suggested once the laughter had died down.
“What? Noooo!" (Y/N) pouted as she rolled off of him and onto the floor. “We were having so much fun." She continued and gave him a smirk.
Liam chuckled a little and shook his head. “Oh believe me, I know." He started, “but we’ve gotta get you to pass this exam… both of us actually." He finished and smiled softly at her.
(Y/N) sighed dramatically, “I guess." She paused for a minute. “Look at you being all concerned about me and whatnot." She finished with a smile.
“If you know anything, (Y/N), then know this; there will never be a day where I won’t be concerned about you." He said as he looked her square in the eyes with the most sincere look on his face.
It caused (Y/N)’s heart to skip a couple of beats and be at a loss for words for a minute. “Now you better stop saying things like that or we’ll never finish studying." She responded and gave him a kiss before hopping back up on the bed.
