SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
2NE1 MKES A QUICK VISIT TO THE PHILIPPINES AND MYX MAGAZINE GIVE YOU AN INSIDE LOOK AT THEIR SHORT BUT SWEET VISIT!
-All was relatively quiet on the Pinoy Blackjacks (2NE1 Fans) front last January. 2NE1 had just returned fromm Japan and Dara posted on her Me2day account that she was looking forwards to a tropical vacation with the girls. Fans began speculating/wishing that 2NE1 would be heading over to the Philippines since Dara has always considered the country her second home.
When Bom announced on her Twitter that 2NE1 was heading to the Philippines, mayhem ensued. Pinoy Blackjacks began searching for any info they could find on 2NE1's upcoming trip. It was not long before they had flight details, which were soon posted on fan sites. Fans also scrambled to have welcome banners made and to plan welcoming committee.
On February 1, Bo Tweeted a photo of Dara at the Ariport and Minzy Tweeted one from the inside of the plane. By the time from the plane landed in Manila around 11am, Blackjacks waiting for hours outside the airport were frenzy. Fans eagerly snapped photos and took videos which hit the net soon after.
2NE1 checked into their hotel and Dara updated her Me2day with a photo taken poolside announcing that they were finally in Manila.The Girls were spotted around the Resorts World complex later in the afternoon, trying out arcade games. Bom and dara even faced off in a game of Dance Dance Revolution. It soon become obvious that the girls weren't only in Manila for a vacation as the girls were followed by a crew taking photos of them while were going around. After the group had dinner, Dara met with some of her Filipino Friends over coffee and they exchanged pasalubongs. It was a relatively short meet up sonce Dara had to be up early the next day.
On their secondd day, the group flew to Albay which turned out to be the main location of their photoshoot. Despite the bad weather, Blackjacks form Albay still gave them a warm welcome as soon as they came out of the airport Albay instantly became a trending topic on Twitter because of their Visit.
The korean entourage soon settled-in at Misibis Bay Report where they were billeted for the rest of their stay. They spent the day indoors since the rain continued to fall entire day. Bom and Minzy tweeted photos of the view from their rooms and Dara updates her Me2day as well.
The weather was better the following day and Data kept fans updated with posts on her Me2day, saying that they went fishing and snorkeling. Dara and Bom also rode jet skis on their own while CL and Minzy rode tandem since it was their first time to ride one,. Unfamiliar with jet ski, CL and Minzy had a bit of trouble and fell into the water. Dara and Bom immediately went over the girls who floated in the water since they are wearing life jackets and were no worse for wear.
The girls also explored different places in Albay and caused a bit of ruckus as their walked and posed for the cameras along the streets of Daraga. They wee also spotted posing in front of a colorful jeep(with Dara and Bom even riding one), a lugawan and a vulcanizing shop. They even had time drop by a fast food chain for some food (Jolibee).
People learned the purpose of the girls' visit when they shot some photos at the centuries-old Daraga Church. a Local guide told a local news crew that the Korean contingent like the look of the church and wanted it as one of the backdrops of a "photo essay book."
The girls left Albay February 5 and returned to their hotel at Resort World. After lunch, most of the group opted to stay in and relax while Dara decided to pay a quick visit to friends at ABS-CBN. Before heading back to the hotel, Dara bought some food like pasta, pizza and sandwiches for the rest of the entourage.
after the dinner at the hotel, the grup left for the airport tomake a late night flight back to Korea. 2NE!;a stay was short and sweet, but no doubt with the warm welcome they always get in the Philippines, we can hope to see them again some time soon.
(While the trip took a lot of people by surprise ,MYX MAGAZINE learned that it was actually planned months ago. 2NE1's very packed schedule was the reason why the trip was pushed back.)
