[OP-ED] Countdown to New Evolution – World Tour (H-11)

World Tour?! 2NE1! Holy Cow This is bound to be AWESOME!

Reporter xo2NE1_Nolza is back once again, here to cover Part Two of our interview session with some YGLadies Staff regarding 2NE1′s comeback!

Are you SCREAMing yet? Well go on and start! Our ladies have sparked spazzing in Blackjacks worldwide as this comeback is due to be a BIG one! And why do we say it’s BIG one? Because along with this comeback, our lovely girls are going to be having their first ever world tour too!! Global Tour – New Evolution

‘New Evolution’ is bound to kick off in Seoul, Korea, on July 28th and through the 29th. After which, our fiery Foursome will be headed to the U.S to show us all what they got! They will be first stopping by New Jersey on August 17th and Los Angeles on August 24th. (NOTE: YGL-ers intending to go for the LA concert, join in the raffle that is ongoing for our YGL members right now!). Japan will be then be their next stop where they will hit Osaka on 1st & 2nd September, Nagoya on 7th & 8th September and finally Yokohama on 11th & 12th September. More countries and cities are expected to be announced for this world tour of theirs, and we just can’t wait till we get to hear more news about it!!

For this 1st World Tour of theirs, our ladies are the 1st female K-Pop group that are heading on a World Tour! Proud of them? Of course! Blackjacks have also learned that Jeremy Scott, our ladies beloved designer (and fellow Blackjack!) will be designing their stage outfits for their world tour! Along with this exciting news,  we also got the news that Divinity Roxxx will be participating in this tour, Travis Payne will be choreographing the New Evolution tour and the amazing Michael Cotton will be working on their concert stage designs!

With this news, I could not resist interviewing our lovely Admin, Tazanya who for sure has wonderful thoughts regarding the big things that are coming our girls’ way! The question that I will posed to her:  "We are all excited to hear your thoughts so please give us the 411. What are you thinking about Jeremy Scott, Travis Panye and Divinity Roxx? But most of all, about the Global tour?"

“Well I know some of you may not like Jeremy Scott’s fashions, but there is no denying he is a well-known and influential member of the fashion elite," writes Tazanya. “Madonna will be working with Jeremy Scott & Dolce and Gabbana for her upcoming world tour. He has also worked with Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Kanye West and other world stars," emphasizing the extreme honour that our girls are getting by working with these big names.

Tazanya also added on, “J.Scott isn’t just going to be sending over samples for the girls to wear, he is creating an exclusive 2NE1 concert collection for the members and the dancers. In fact, the outfits that 2NE1 are wearing in the World Tour poster are from Jeremy Scott’s F/W 2012 collection and were specifically made for them for this poster photo shoot. That means he truly is using his 2NE1 inspirations in his collections. That also means, this collaboration has been in the works for a long long long time."

Moving on to talk about the topic of Michael Cotton working with the girls, Tazanya chimes, “Few of you have probably heard of Micheal Cotten, if you haven’t seen his reel it’s positively astounding. He has worked with the likes of Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Miley Cyrus, and many more. This visioinary who designed the Super Bowl half-time stage and Michael Jackson’s “This Is It" concert, will be helping in create a stage for 2NE1. Given YG’s ‘spare no expense’ mindset, we can only imagine what kind of dazzling visual treat is in store for us on this tour."

There was also quite a number of the Blackjack-dancers who got excited over the news of 2NE1 working with Travis Payne. To this, Tazanya says, “2NE1 isn’t known for their intense choreography, so having their name paired with famous choreographer Travis Payne, who worked as a choreography partner with Michael Jackson and now is the choreographer for Cirque du Sole’s MJ Tribute Show, is wonderful."

2NE1 will also be having a live band at  their concerts, and Divinity Roxx, who has worked on Beyonce’s tour, will be working with 2NE1′s band. She’s most recognized as a bassist and part of Beyoncé’s entire female band and will be going on the tour with our ladies! (If you haven’t checked out what she can do, STOP and head to YouTube! You are sure to be pleased! ) YG fans won’t find it odd that 2NE1 is working with a live band, since YGE has been utilizing live bands for performances for a while. However, Tazanya tells us why this is different for 2NE1 "It’s still rare, rarer still for girl group concerts, that a live band is used! A live band can add dimension and nuance to a performance that rigid adherence to a set backtrack just can’t. This will open a ton of doors for special stages and unique versions of older favorites. Divinity Roxx is very experienced in mixing pop-friendly beats with more rock concert-like sensibility."

Hearing Tazanya raving about this just gets you all excited doesn’t it?? And she has to say even more! “The list of talented persons working on 2NE1′s tour is mind-boggling. They are not people who are new and have to take whatever business comes their way. Instead they are respected leaders in their field, who pick and choose their projects. Blackjacks should be happy that these people saw what we see in the girls and chose to work with them to make something truly special and no doubt Working with Michael Jackson’s choreographer and stage designer AND also the bassist from Beyoncé’s Beyoncé’s entire female band is practically a one step closer to their idols for Minzy and Bom! It must be so exciting for them!" she adds on excitedly. “Most Blackjacks are familiar with Jeremy Scott, Movement Lifestyle, will i am and some of the other high-profile talents 2NE1 has been linked to over the years. For their World Tour the girls kick it up a notch adding some “best in the business" production to their already talent-heavy in-house team.“

“Ggirl group solo concerts are still not as commonplace as you would think given the dozens of k-pop girl groups out there." writes Taz, a visible sense of sadness about that fact coming from her. “While boy groups can host concerts practically right out the gate, there are still only a handful of girl groups who are able to have their own concerts. 2NE1 being one of the select few. YGE’s confidence in 2NE1 is never more evident than in the added expense of putting a live band in their upcoming concert. Rather than be satisfied with the status quo, they are always pushing the limits of what defines a K-pop girl group."

“I can’t wait to see all that the girls have planned for this world tour, I know it will be spectacular."

And there you have it folks! What a great response! Taz is 100% right! There are some people doubting that 2NE1 can pull off a world tour, and that it is still too early for that, but Blackjacks should have faith in them. This upcoming world tour is going to be a momentous achievement for 2NE1, and we just can’t wait to see what they can bring to the table! I’m sooo super duper excited for this comeback especially since this Global Tour is coming along right after it!!!
