[DISC/POLL] Rookie Duo 2Wind’s “Sorry," Too Similar to 2NE1′s “It Hurts"?
2Wind, a new female duo consisting of Jea Yi Rin and Wook Lee, debuted with their new single-album, Sorry on April 3.
This rookie group has everything that a female duo needs, from their head-turning looks and glamorous physique to their superb vocals. But why is it that their title song, “Sorry," hasn’t seemed to win over the love of K-pop fans?

2NE1 made their comeback back in 2010 with the album To Anyone, which includes hit songs such as “Can’t Nobody," “Clap Your Hands," and “Please Don’t Go." But the album also included, “It Hurts," which, despite not getting as much airtime, quickly became a fan favorite.
“It Hurts" portrays a girl grieving after losing her lover and is now seeing all the things that he is doing with other girls. It has a distinct slow rhythm and beats you cannot miss. It is safe to say that this track is one of the most underrated songs in the album.

Yet strangely, when listening to the song “Sorry" by 2Wind, there seems to be that same distinct melody, accompanied by the same powerful vocals of the duo. Although netizens cannot claim that the song is a complete rip-off of “It Hurts," it is recognizably similar when it comes to the main melody, beats, and maybe even the atmosphere. However, we cannot ignore the sexy, husky vocals of 2Wind in contrast to the clear and crisp vocals of 2NE1, giving their song an extra kick of sincerity.
