It’s almost been a year since I heard about A Friend In London for the first time. I still remember my first reaction when I heard New Tomorrow - I thought it was a totally epic song! Loved it from the very first moment I heard it. And when I saw the singer - a guy when these blue eyes and that blonde hair - it really wasn’t a bad combo! ;) we all know how it ended in the ESC - but to me AFIL are the true winners!
It’s always like that in the ESC - you find a song that you like, and that is your favorite that year, and you’ll maybe listen to it the upcoming year - but that’s normally where it ends. This year has been completely different! I found AFIL, four hardworking boys, who actually take their time to get to know their fans, or better known as #FRIENDs. All these twitcams, all this tweeting and all of their time spending on us - I never knew that a band would do all this for their fans. The #FRIENDzone is without any hesitation the best fanbase in the world!
And today, February 1st, it’s six months since I got the opportunity to meet one of the boys who created this - Tim Schou, the guy with the blue eyes and the blonde hair - and that was without any doubts the best day of my life so far. I will never ever be able to thank him enough for all that he does! I’ve found new, hopefully lifelong, friends. And I’ve found a band that has completed my life.
