1. Neverwinter Nights
Genres: RPG.
Personal rating: 9/10.
-------------------------------
"Play centers on the development of a character who becomes the ultimate hero of the story. In the original NWN scenario supplied with the game engine, the player is single-handedly responsible for defeating a powerful cult; collecting the four reagents required for stopping an insatiable plague; thwarting an attack on the city of Neverwinter, and many other side quests.
The first and final chapters of the story in the official campaign deal with the city of Neverwinter itself, but the lengthy mid-story requires the player to venture into the countryside and then northward to the city of Luskan. Neverwinter is a city on the Sword Coast of Faerûn, in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting of Dungeons and Dragons."
-------------------------------
This is the first computer game that I ever properly played, and thus definately the one closest to heart for me. I remember playing through the single player campaign, being thrilled by every little detail and how amazing the graphics and effects were at the time. Once I had completed the single player campaign though, I felt saddened that my journey would end there - but alas, I discovered the Multiplayer option and I looked through a series of different servers until I found what seemed to be the perfect one. I stuck with that server for years to come, I made a bunch of friends whose names I still remember to this day.
But as it's said, "all good things come to an end", eventually most of the NWN crowd was stolen by games such as 'World of Warcraft' and the multiplayer version of the game quickly died out. Still, the single player campaign is awesome and it's definately worth getting this game!
