Back in the 80s Europe made way for many new Swedish AOR/MHR bands such as Dalton, Treat, Alien and the list goes on. In 2008 when Heat released their fantastic debut album they opened up the AOR scene here in Sweden again with new great young acts such as Eye, Danger Avenue and Titan. Yes, Titan is a new promising AOR band from Helsingborg and the median age of the band is 18. Titan is from the ashes of another band called Striker but along with a new lead vocalist. Steps is a 6-track EP that’s filled with pure slick 80s AOR with some West-Coast influences. Hero is a strong song with fluffy keyboards and filled with lovely melodies and the chorus is great with impressive harmonies. This is a song that reminds a lot of Heat. I Want You and Top Of The World has Toto written all over them. When Evening Fall is a fantastic AOR-song with classy background vocals in the chorus. One More Night is the best song of the EP with dut-dut keyboards filled with strong hooklines and a damn catchy chorus. Steps is a fantastic EP filled with fantastic keyboards, melodies and catchy hooklines. This a band that sound hungry like Heat did when they took us by surprise. So if you into Heat, Work Of Art and Eye then don’t hesitate to check up these Titan’s and give them your attention. Can’t wait to hear the full-length album and if they come up with same quality on the new songs then it will be a cracker.
