While it may not be the reunion we’ve been waiting for, it’s certainly a start. At this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, all three members of Blink-182 will briefly come out of their indefinite hiatus and share a stageforthe first time since 2004 to present either an award or aperformance, reports Rolling Stone. There has been no confirmationwhether the band will perform or not.
While the pop-punk group may not performing, there’s still plenty of other groups who will be playing including Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, B.B. King, Paul McCartney with the Foo Fighters, and more.
The last time Blink-182 shared a stage was in December of2004, just a few months before they announced they were taking a break.Since then, guitarist Tom Delonge started Angels & Airwaves while bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker created Plus 44. Things were rocky in the years following Blink-182’sdemisebut relations with the three members have since strengthenedafter theywere brought together following the 2008 plane crash thatalmost tookdrummer Travis Barker’s life.
Another interesting bit of news that just hit the internet is that David Kennedy, the guitarist for the Tom Delonge-fronted Angels & Airwaves, May or May Not have confirmed with fans during a chat on ModLife.com that Blink-182 is preparing a new record, reports AbsolutePunk.net.
It’s all about wording and right now no one is 100% sure on whether he was saying that Angels & Airwaves are making a new record or that Blink-182 are making a new record. You can be the judge and check out a screenshot of the chat log
