World of Warcraft has finally done it. Blizzard Entertainment has reported that the hit MMORPG, World of Warcraft, has hit 10,000,000 subscribers world wide. This is a massive milestone for not only Blizzard but also the MMO world. Currently the world markets are looking typical, with Asia boasting the biggest share of the total, coming in at 5.5 million subscribers. North America has 2.5 million and Europe has the smallest percentage with 2 million. This comes directly after the holiday season, which Blizzard is holding responsible for this new number claiming that many new players came to the world of Azeroth and many old players returned in waiting for Wrath of the Lich King. World of Warcraft has now cemented itself as one of the most popular video games in history as well as the most played Western MMO in the World. The question now is will Wrath of the Lich King gain Blizzard another 1,000,000 subscribers by this time next year? We will have to wait and see... Perhaps this could be the last time we see World of Warcraft breaking records. (meh)
