"As citizens from Sweden and around the world, we urge you to take immediate action to stop Nordkalk's plans to mine limestone on Gotland. The mine would put bordering protected Natura 2000 sites and sensitive fresh water reserves at severe risk. Over the objections of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, preparatory work for the mine is already underway. The situation is urgent, and the risk that this mine would pose to these protected areas is too great. We call upon you to act now to uphold EU law and stop this mine."
