O the everlasting fire,
the flames that continue to burn.
O the never fading sorrow,
the heart that always yearn.
Once I loved with all my might,
and at the time, I cried.
I was a coward that didn’t dare,
to tell you, but oh, I tried!
Before my eyes, it slipped away,
those chances that I had.
And before our time was up,
I hadn’t told you, oh how sad!
The times we had together,
nothing but friends through your eyes.
But when I held your hand, you held my heart,
and my ignorance was lies!
Time slipped through my fingers,
it passed with cruel speed.
And soon our time was over ,
you never knew that you was all I’d need!
A year did pass without your face,
I believed that I was through.
And then I saw your smile again,
oh yet again, I fell for you!
You still hold my heart my friend,
yes, my poor heart beats in your hand.
But I can never have what I once dreamt,
my time have slipped like sand.
