McFly's Dougie Poynter and Blink 182's Tom Delonge chat music. Macbeth and the meaning of life...
Well, everyone know what it's like to love a band so much, it hurts. And just can McFly are huge, doesn't mean they are any different. "I was about 11 when I first heard about Blink 182" - says Dougie. "My aunt had Enema of the State and played it to me". Ever since then, I've been obsessed ! They are funny but really clever as well - their songs really inspire me. If they're in a magazine, I have to buy it." Since the McFly boys have always been good to chat, we thought it was about the time to reply the favour. So, when we heard Tom Delonge, Blink 182's guitarist, was up for an interview, we hatched a plan...
"You want me to interview Tom Delonge ?" Dougie asked. "Me? And Tom Delonge ... Oh my god." There was a massive silence followed by a massive grin. Dougie was in.
Of course, this wasn't the first time Blink and McFly's paths had crossed "I met them once in a rehearsak studio, but all I could do was ask Tom for his autograph." Dougie smiles. This time around, he's fully composed and armed with a barrage of probing questions.
