"The Brazilian fish has been found in Øresund Sound in Scandanavia and off the coast of New Guinea. It is difficult to note exactly how many have made it up into those waters, as fishermen have had a hard time of catching them. The pacu diet consists of fruit, smaller fish and nuts (yes, really), making testicles an obvious target due to their size and shape. It has earned the nickname “ball cutter" to those in regions with the fish.
Officials have warned males swimming in pacu-infested waters to keep their swimsuits securely fastened!
