Vissa kanske känner igen början av kapitel 4 men det är för att jag har
mergat en annan fic jag skrivit med Joey förut....eftersom
den andra karaktären i den ficcen inte är kvar längre XD
Chapter 4 - Kotodama
"Hey are you listening?" He grumbled while smacking me over the head.
"Yeah yeah." I replied with a pout.
"Riiiight, anyway, Good work, next time the audience...." And I tuned him out
again.
When I was little I loved magicians and I really desired to be one when I
grew up. Because I thought that they knew how to do real magic. Man was
I disillusioned when I grew older.
"Okay, that's it for tonight. Great work yet again. See you next week." I nodded,
even though it had been more of a statement then a question, then picked up my
stuff and walked out of the backdoor.
"Yo, great work." I stopped in my fast paced tracks and glanced over my shoulder.
The handsome bus driver, Hamish Ester Xalderien or Hex as he said his friends
call him, was leaning against the wall next to the backdoor, with a loop-sided grin.
Like he knew something I didn't.
"Thanks." I replied. He was wearing a black sleeveless hoodie with an open
zipper, a black and white striped tank top and cotton tricot black and white
striped fingerless gloves that rode all the way up to his biceps. A pair of black
worn fitted jeans. Black studded chokers and belts together with matching boots.
And the same eyeglasses he wore with his uniform yesterday morning. Edible.
He not only looks good in uniforms. He actually have taste.
"So, my friends are waiting at Kagami or do you have any other place in mind?"
I asked as he strode up to me and we started walking next to each other.
"Anywhere is fine with me as long as they have good music." He shrugged.
I smirked as I led us towards a shortcut to Kagami.
After walking about two blocks we were about to pass a construction site when
Hex's facial expression turned uneasy and I could have sworn he had brown
eyes before, not lime green.
"Do we really ha-" He got cut short by a maniacal unearthly shriek. High and
low at same time if that is even possible.
"UhuhuhuheeehehMi-Ne!!"
Over the construction site fence came a strange looking creature the size of tiger
that lashed onto Hex like it's life depended on it. Maybe it did, because after it
came two females. One of them had half her face covered in blood. A fraction of
a second later I noticed that the females were both my twin. How was that even
possible. What's with the eyes again too? They both had shining light purple
eyes. Last time I checked my twin and I had honey colored eyes.
They were both wearing identical outfits. A white blouse, a dark grey sleeveless
long coat and black leather pants. With a gun holster attached to their left legs.
Probably where they usually kept the big assed guns they were waving about.
"Give us that monster!" The one with blood running down the face exclaimed.
Waving her gun around extra violently. The other one seemed hesitant.
"It didn't...we should let it go." The other one stuttered and that earned her a glare
from the blood faced one. I don't know, I'm sure my parents would have told
us if we were triplets. How....
"Oh just shut up." My blood faced sibling grunted while snapping her fingers.
The timid one disappeared in a puff of smoke. Well, that kind of explained it.
"Now hand him over." She repeated but Hex just snorted at her. He didn't
look at all amused, though. He pushed the creature behind his back, protecting it.
"Oh no, you should hand him over to us, hunters." This was getting kind of stupid.
Like some kind of B rated action flick. Three people in black clothes and ski
masks had appeared out of nowhere, two of them pointing guns at us.
"Like hell I will, RAGE!" My twin spat at them as she slid in front of us aiming her
gun at the newcomers. They on the other hand just rolled their eyes.
"Like you'd dare, hunter, you guys are pussies who can't hurt humans. We on
the other hand....." The black clad guy closest to us ended the tirade with a
demonstration. He fired his gun and the bullet grazed Hex's shoulder. Making
him bleed.
The creature let out a high pitched screech and then everything happened in
slow motion. It lunged through Hex and my sibling like a ghost and when It landed,
it landed on the assailant who had been closest to us. It was tripled the size
it had been before.
Then more arms grew out it's body and they grew longer seemingly at it's will
as it grabbed the second assailant with two arms and then reached for the third.
Who got away in the nick of time. The creature just managed to scratch the
assailants clothes. The black ski mask slipped off the assailant as she drew her
gun and turned around to fire at the creature. But it was too quick and grabbed
her over her hands with one hand and took a choke hold on her neck with another
hand.
It had happened in just a few fractions of a second. Now when time had started
running in it usual slow pace again. The creature was choking them all at the same
time, watching them with several eyes on it's now grotesque head as their life
slipped. Someone had to do something.
"Release them." And somebody did. Hex had side stepped my sibling, hurried
over to the creature and was now patting it's hind leg.
The creature turned it's head to him, looked down on him for a couple of moments
then it snorted. A long snake-ish tongue rolled out of it's now huge and severely
teethed mouth. It licked the gun wound on Hex's shoulder which was by now
bleeding profoundly.
It shrunk quickly to the size of a big house cat, then it scrambled up on Hex's
shoulders and settled around his neck with a fierce growl of "Miiiihihi-nee" towards
the assailants.
"You guys better leave." Hex said while looking down on the now gasping
trio.
A smoke bomb went off and when the smoke settled they were gone. The four
of us looked at each other with varying degree of interest.
Seems like the world isn't as dull and boring as I had first thought.
