It was barren and not at all like he had expected it. The jail was bigger than he had thought they would be. Big rooms with bars. The only thing in them were people and straw mattresses.
Knight Holden stopped in front of a room and looked over at Wyatt. "Here she is. Mrs, you have a visitor."
Wyatt stopped next to knight Holden, shivering. Nervous. He didn’t know what to say, he couldn’t say anything. He held out the ring through the bars, towards the woman. Now she was without a knife. The woman stared at him. "The boy wants to return one of your trinkets that he found."
The woman snorted and Wyatt’s knees shook. He wanted to keep it, he felt safer with it on. "He has touched it with his dirty hands. He can keep it."
Wyatt didn’t know what to do, what he should feel about it. He wanted to keep it. But it wasn’t his. "See, kid, it’s yours so come along then."
The woman was glaring at him. She said she didn’t want it. With his heart pounding he clenched the ring in his fist and slowly followed knight Holden through the corridor and out of the jail house. Out into the fresh air.
What was he going to do now? Just go back to the cart and help his brothers. He didn’t want to but that was the only thing he could do. There was nothing else for him. "Well then, Wyatt, see you around."
Wyatt gave knight Holden a long look. Holden raised an eyebrow. "Do-o, yo-you ha-have to be-ee a no-noble to be-become a-a....kn-knight?"
Just looking at knight Holden he didn’t really look or act like somebody of noble birth. Like knight Amber did. Maybe there was some other way of becoming a knight. A way that his brothers didn’t know of. "Well, basically, if you do something heroic you can become a knight. You want to become a knight, Wyatt?"
Squeezing the ring in his hand hard Wyatt bit his lower lip. He could become a knight. He just had to do something heroic first. Wyatt nodded and knight Holden smiled. "That’s great. Then I’ll definitely see you around."
Knight Holden waved and then then walked away. Wyatt frowned. Then how would he be able to do something heroic if he wasn’t a knight? He put the ring on his finger and then looked around. Sighing he decided that he, even though he didn’t want to, had to find his way back to his brothers and the cart. His brothers would probably give him a beating for leaving the cart when he returned. He really didn’t want to go back to them but he had nowhere else to go. Nowhere.
He started walking in the direction he had come. Well, at least, that was what he thought he had done, but obviously that wasn’t the case because he couldn’t recognize the area.
The air smelled like dung and lot’s of animal noises could be heard over the buzzing of the crowd. Walking a bit more he reached several animal folds. There were lot of strange animals there. Animals he hadn’t seen before.
Wyatt stared at them wide eyed for a while and then walked along the folds, pushing past people, trying to look at all the different animals. There were so many of them. Then suddenly there was a bigger fold and Wyatt stopped. There was a small fold that opened out into the bigger fold and inside the small fold a couple of men were trying to sit on an animal Wyatt hadn’t seen before.
It was big. like a cow. It was white and had big black spots. The similarities ended there thou. This animal didn’t have udders. It had thicker and longer legs, more muscular. It’s face looked very different too. It’s tail consisted of long hair and it also had thick long hair on it’s head as well as on it’s legs. It looked, it actually looked pretty.
One of the men sat down on the animal and then the animal was let out into the bigger fold. The animal bucked, it didn’t seem to like it when the men tried to sit on it. Wyatt wondered why they would want to. What was the point of sitting on it? Animal’s rarely liked it. He had tried to ride their pigs when he was little, that hadn’t worked out that well. His leg had hurt for weeks afterwards. Looking around at the people who were watching the animal he wanted to ask somebody but he didn’t dare to.
That’s when he saw knight Amber. Through a gap in the crowd of people. He was standing a bit away, leaning against the fence and watching the animal. Would knight Amber be annoyed with him if he went over there and asked him questions? Wyatt inched closer and closer to the knight and eventually he ended up next to him. "Umm...urr....ni-kni-knight Aa-mmm-be-ber...urrr...wha-wa-what’s tha-at aaa-ni-ni-mal?"
Knight Amber glanced over at and him and then looked back at the animal and the men. "It’s a horse and they are trying to tame it."
Wyatt frowned and also looked back at the animal. The horse. How did they plan on taming it by sitting on it? Wouldn’t it just get more upset? His pig had been when he had tried to sit on it. "Wh-what iii-s t-he....aaa-nim-al fo-for?"
Giving Wyatt a crooked smile knight Amber placed a hand on Wyatt’s shoulder. "It’s for travel. Come on, let’s go and ask if we can try." Wyatt’s eyes grew wide as knight Amber pushed him up to the small fold and the men. "Guy’s let’s have this young one try it."
Wyatt’s face flushed as the men stared at him, they shrugged and nodded. "Yeah, well, I guess it won’t hurt to let him try."

"It won’t hurt to let him try. Sure, he might break a few bones, maybe his neck, but at least the horse will be fine." *nod* XD
