Vaughn wasn’t really sure how to go about this. When he had gotten turned half a month ago he had just left because he didn’t want to show himself like this to his family. Then he had gotten caught by horse merchants and they had tried to tame him.
Almost right away he had come to terms with the fact that he was a horse now and hadn’t tried to actually do anything about about. Because he didn’t even know where to start. "Wh-which one is yours?"
Should he take the boy to the family house? But why would anyone in his family do this to him? As far as he knew his family had no dealings with mystics. "None, my family’s mansion is on the other side of this town."
Maybe if they asked around in town? But they couldn’t do that. He was a horse and Wyatt had his stutter, but he couldn’t come up with anything else to do than ask around. Maybe they could ask somebody else? Well, right now everyone was probably asleep anyway if they weren’t up to no good. Well. If they were up to no good they might know something. "Le-let’s go there then?"
Vaughn shook his head. "No, the inhabitants are probably sleeping. We need to see if we can find some hooligans to interrogate."
Wyatt didn’t respond so he figured that he had nodded without realizing that he couldn’t see him. Slightly endearing actually.
His hooves echoed against the stone ground of the town he grew up next to. It seemed really silent here. His ears moving in different directions he couldn’t here anyone else then them out and about either. How nice, when they were actually looking for hoodlums there were none around.
After walking around in town for a while and searching they returned to the outskirts of town and just when they were about to step outside of the borders of the town they could hear it.
The echoing of another set of hooves. Who couldn’t be? Not many of the towns people who could afford horses were out late at night. Or as it was now, very early morning.
Rounding a corner he was struck by a light, blinking and taking another couple of steps closer he noted that it was a knight on horseback holding a lantern. "Halt, who goes there?"
Vaughn was about to mutter to Wyatt that he would have to be the one to answer, but he didn’t have time. "Aa-h! Kn-knight Ho-holden?"
-/////-
Wyatt was happy at first, it was someone he knew. However, after calling out, he realized that maybe knight Holden was after him? Because thinking about it. He had actually stolen a horse. He got a lump in his throat. He hadn’t actually stolen him, since he was a human. In the eyes of everyone else though, Vaughn was property. "Wyatt? That you? What are you doing in this town?"
When knight Holden rode up to them Wyatt had expected to become more nervous. Scared even, surprising himself, the feelings actually never arrived. He wasn’t sure how he should feel about that. "Vi-visiting a-a fr-friends ho-home to-town. Yo-you?"
Knight Holden was about to scratch his neck but Wyatt saw him realize that it didn’t work that well with a helmet on. "Wee~ll. Amber is missing so I’m out searching for him. His brother lives in this town at the moment. I arrived a bit too late for asking around so I’m heading for the Inn."
Wyatt smiled, it was a relief that knight Holden wasn’t looking for him to arrest him. Then he frown. It was a bit worrisome that knight Amber was missing. He wanted to help knight Holden search for his friend, but he had already promised to help Vaughn figure out who had turned him into a horse. "Oo-h. We-well...see yo-you a-around. I-i’m go-going ba-ba-back to my fri-friends home."
Nodding knight Holden smiled at Wyatt and felt a bit bad. It might just’ve been the lighting but knight Holden looked pained over his friend being missing. "Yeah, see you around, kid."
Watching knight Holding riding away, the yellow flittering light leaving, Wyatt sighed. "Do you want to help him search?"
Wyatt twitched. How had he known? Could Vaughn read his mind? Sometimes he wondered. "Well...yeah."
Vaughn hummed and started walking. Was he mad at him? Wyatt hoped not. He didn’t want Vaughn to leave him. He was the only one who could help him becoming a knight. "I guess we could do that instead. It would be easier."
Frowning Wyatt felt a bit confused, but he guessed that if they had knight Holden with them it would be easier to do things. Because knight Holden was already a knight. "Yeah..."
Where was Vaughn walking? He was heading in the opposite direction from where knight Holden had gone. He opened his mouth to ask but as per usual with Vaughn he really didn’t have to. "We’re heading to my family’s stable. It’s to late or rather to early for anything to be done so we’ll go there to get some rest and something to eat."
Wyatt nodded.
