PROLOGUE - The Trial
He felt nothing else than the pain... It was unbareable, although it gave him some comfort. At least he wasn't dead yet. He continued crawling along the floor, slowly making his way towards the exit. The blood was everywhere. He felt like he could feel every bloodcell leave his body. Like they were saying goodbye to hime each time a new flow of blood left his body. He didn't knew what the sickness really did. Man, it didn't even feel like a sickness. More like a curse. Slowly killing you from the inside, and then opening you up. Cutting you open. Leaving you to bleed out, until you bled to death. He had heard stories about the curse. That some were lucky and choked on their blood before they could tear them apart. And others... well. They suffered.
He vomited up another heap of blood. He was losing the feeling in his left leg now. He was not going to make it through the room in this pace. But he had to make it... He couldn't die in this place. He had to get through that door, and all this would end. The pain would go away. The curse would be lifted. The man in the coat told them, that if you find a door, go through it. Or you will die. And he could not die... He had to be there for his sister.
The blood stopped flowing out of the cut now... His brain stopped working, but somehow he continued. He had gotten new strength thanks to the fact, that he could not feel his body. He thought it was done. He was going to make it. Then it came. It struck him like an axe. He started crying. The Mourners Cry. Thats what the sickness, the curse, is named after. The blood streamed down his cheeks. The final torment was the crying. It felt like a thousand and another thousand blades stuck in your eyes, and yet another thousand in your heart. The pain was going to make him pass out. He lied there... On the floor. He was stuck in hell, for all eternity. Before he died, the door opened by a strange wind. In walked the man.
- "A pity..." he said. "Such a young soul. But he did not pass my test... He is not worthy for Heaven."
A strange, deep, growling voice answered him, it sounded like something out of a horror movie.
- "I'm sorry, Alchemist. But there is no more room in hell..."
