21 Apr 2015 Re: Stuck in Preparing of Guided Setup. Once guided setup is started, it needs to be completed for the unit to be usable. It probably would be a good idea to tell Tivo you are the new owner, but this will not stop you from completing guided setup.

It all went ok until hanging at the "collecting TiVo service info" stage. (Managed network connection and channel scan ok.) It just sits on the first step "preparing" and never moves. Have repeated entire process 7 or 8 times including the mysterious "unplug everything for 6 hours" approach from TiVo support.
25 May 2012 My 2 new to me tivo's are both stuck in guided setup when downloading data.
