Loosen the shift linkages and the speedometer cable from the transmission manually. Place the transmission jack under the transmission, and then take a socket wrench and remove the support nut, the cross-member, and the rear support insulator from the rear engine.
Remove the starter motor, which is bolted to the transmission bell housing. Remove the large bolts that hold the transmission to the engine block, and the small bolts that hold the dust shield in the bottom front of the transmission. Remove the two bolts that hold the clutch slave cylinder onto the bell housing.
6. First remove the cable bracket (A), then disconnect the cables (B) from the top of the transmission housing. Carefully remove both cables and the bracket together so as not to bend the cables. AB
