An archaeological team attempts to unlock the secrets of a lost pyramid only to find themselves hunted by an insidious creature.
In times of turbulence and confusion in Egypt, an American team of archaeologists is digging a three-side pyramid in the desert. The engineer Zahir sends his robot to explore the interior while the archaeologists Nora and her father Holden; the video producer Sunni; and the cameraman Fitzie record and analyze the image. However they have to leave the site due to the political instability but out of blue, the expensive robot vanishes inside the pyramid. Amir K convinces Corporal Shadid to give two hours for them to seek out the robot. When they are in the interior, the floor collapses and they fall 30 m down. Soon they learn that the place is a maze full of traps and a creature is hunting them down. Will they succeed to escape?
This was not only the worst horror movie I have ever seen but worst movie in general I have ever seen in the world!!!! How any one can give this a good rating I don't know. Even if I was blind I would say this was a terrible movie. Only reason I gave this movie a 1 was because I couldn't give it any lower of a rating. So in conclusion Worst movie ever. I would rather get my eyes scratched out by the poorly graphically designed cats than watch this movie. How this director was able to get this movie financed is beyond belief. I hope to god he does not make any more movies not only in the near future but ever in fact he should probably choose a different profession. I'm so glad I wasted an hour and a half of my life on this piece of crap.
I will say that the plot of this movie is good. In fact, I found myself thoroughly enjoying it. I love Egyptian history and there was plenty of it (and to my rudimentary knowledge it was well done and accurate as well). However, I am not one who finds people writhing in drawn out agony appealing. Only one scene was horribly graphic, the rest was really all pretty tame, but the scenes are drawn out and (a bonus in a way) the actors are actually good. So I had to fast forward through much of the movie. Which actually made me sad because I didn't want to miss any plot. A 5 out of 10 is massively appropriate because I hated the torturous deaths that took WAY longer than they needed to (and really, I think scientifically none of the things that happen to the people could possibly hurt for that long because we'd go into shock). But the plot was excellent. And as an added bonus, the found footage documentary style was actually integrated into quality traditional movie filming amazingly well! Must go call Dr...unsure what to think.
The problem with The Pyramid is that it doesn't have a single new idea in its arsenal. All the shocks are cribbed from the likes of Alien, The Descent and a ghostly host of other horror films, but they're not even very effectively done here.
