It's been five years since the last Sharknado that devastated Washington, D.C. and the world is now benefiting from this hard-earned peace. Thankfully, Aston Reynolds' Astro-X tech company with their revolutionary atmosphere stabilisers called the Astro-Pods, has managed to eradicate all possible Sharknado formations before they could ever get the chance to grow in magnitude. However, while Fin is heading to Vegas for a family reunion, some fun and relaxation, in the meantime, menacing clouds are beginning to form, and a brand-new Sharknado is at hand. Under those circumstances, once again, Fin, his old friends and some new ones, will have to battle against threatening shark-infested cyclones, in a calamitous Sharknado extravaganza. Boy, are we in trouble or what?
Fin, his family and the cosmos have been blissfully sharknado-free in the five years since the most recent attack, but now sharks and tornadoes are being whipped up in unexpected ways and places.
**VERY** minor spoilers, here. Very. Seriously, they're inconsequential and vague, but I don't wanna get on a list.
I say 'awesome', because I was filled with awe at the sheer audacity of some of the scenes. The over-the-top factors (of which there were hundreds, of course) weren't thrown together haphazardly - they were all woven together in a strangely well executed tapestry of utter ridiculousness.
There were some scenes and characters I didn't like (the billionaire, the kid, the shouty TV dude who had too much screen time, and the farmhouse scenes that stretched too long) but everything else more than made up for those... especially the scene that not-too-obviously referenced Hasselhoff's past roles.
I was smiling and giggling from minute one. Everyone involved in these movies must have had such a blast, I can totally imagine the entire crew in a constant state of laughter while making each scene.
Unless you've been living in a Faraday cage and have completely missed the first three, this movie doesn't need to be sold. Why are you even reading this? Go watch it.
With the world stabilized from sharknados, a freak accident with the prevention technology forces the world into another round of attacks by these incidents and brings the heroes with their greatest challenge yet in stopping them from happening.
This here was simply another highly enjoyable and utterly crazy entry in the series. The fact that this one starts in with the newfound means of setting up the new reality where it's intended to prevent the world from the sharknado appearing again in a spectacular opening sequence that brings about the spectacularly cheesy action the series is known for with the different monuments getting ravaged by the creatures and having the greatness of the different mini-attacks that play along to their universe's rules while getting in plenty of the treasured cameos. Likewise, the big action set-pieces that come about here because of the general plot line in play here means that this one really so full of awesome action scenes that comes along throughout here which gives us the train attack alongside the howling tornado outside, the great town- attack in the blazing oil-field moves past the group and the big attacks on the different cities that really allow the kind of over- the-top scenarios and action which become quite fun. That even includes the rather exciting and thrilling encounter at the farmhouse where the tornado-like winds provide this with some really thrilling sequences as they have to fight off the wind as well as the encroaching sharks whip around outside that stands as one of the greatest scenes in the film. That also leads into the big finale at the waterfalls at the end which is quite an impressive and thrilling big series of action-packed scenes that bring about the kind of cheesy nature and full-on crazy ideas to come into play here that's become quite synonymous with the series and gives this a solid connection to it all. With the solid gore and bloody kills running rampant across here in terms of both sharks and humans as well as some truly outrageous sight-gags and several rather funny lines thrown into the mix, there's so much to really like here. Still, even with all this great amount of fun there's a few minor and barely detrimental areas here. The main one is the fact that there's no reason to introduce the storyline about the family completely unaware of her resurgence. The reasoning for doing so isn't all that well-handled and seems like it would've had a built-in excuse that would've worked fine but instead this is a wholly lame angle that doesn't really do much for the film. As well, there's also the usual and expected atrocious CGI present here that looks rather cheap and really badly done which is wholly distracting and takes a lot out of the scenes. These here are the film's only problems.
