Now here is a band that has caught my attention of late and that is the wonderful Swedish newcomers Chains. They have already grabbed themselves a spot at this years Sweden Rock Festival and deservedly won the best demo for last year in the Festivals magazine. The two-track demo that they have sent me shows all sorts of promise. They come across as a Swedish AOR version of Def Leppard on tracks like "Fool For Love" and "Give It To Me" and as any fool will tell you, that aint no bad thing. The tracks from their earlier demos, whilst rough around the edges, show that they are no slouches in the songwriting department with "Burning Desire" deserving of a special mention as the pick of the bunch. What they now need is a good engineer, a great producer and a studio that is used to rock bands. When they get all of that in place then they will have the capability to be as good as H.E.A.T. They have the songs, they have the image and most of all they have the passion and ability to take them to the top. In the hands of the right people this bands potential is frightening.
