is a command-line application to automatically crop the margins of PDF files. Cropping the margins can make it easier to read the pages of a PDF document -- whether the document is printed or displayed on a screen -- because the display fonts are larger. This program is similar to the Perl script pdfcrop except with many
7 Jan 2016 5. pdfcrop. It's time to go to the command line. This is an utility found in texlive-extra-utils package. If you run it without options, it will automatically crop white margins of all pages. There is no way to select page range or apply different crop boxes to different pages. The crop box size is defined in pt units.

I would suggest you take a look at PDFcrop. If you wish to crop a pdf with left, top, right and bottom margins of 5, 10, 20, and 30 pt (points), then run pdfcrop --margins '5 10 20 30' input.pdf output.pdf. in terminal. To actually crop something away, use negative values in the argument for crop. For example,

21 Jul 2017 As mentioned, newer PDFs with margins meta data, the --margins removes the margin white space prior to adjustment. This is NOT the case with older PDFs. With older PDFs, you generally only want to remove margins ( --margins with negative values) because pdfcrop finds no margins meta data. Here is
25 Jan 2011 One of the most annoying things about PDF files are their fixed font size, the only real way of getting a better view at the text is to zoom the whole page in. This isn't really a fix for that annoyance but it's a way of getting more info to screen ratio by removing the wasted white space around the body of the file
20 Mar 2014 I found that the --verbose flag will output the bounding box used at each step. Since this was a "growing" animation, the last page is the largest. So to get them all the same size, I ran pdfcrop with --verbose and extracted this output: %%HiResBoundingBox: 48.000022 299.872046 624.124950 420.127932.

For me it comes with tetex. I think it is also in TexLive or similar. This program will call ghostscript to
PDFCrop is a Perl script that crops the white margins of PDF pages and rescales them to fit a standard size sheet of paper. It makes the printed pages far more attractive to read! PDFCrop is particularly useful to academics who print downloaded journal articles and people who receive PDF documents designed for letter size
