So this is what the room buildings look like....huge resort...
We decided to go check out some Mayan remains in nearby Tulum.
Tulum means wall, and the whole place is surrounded by a big stone wall. Here's Kerry in one of the entrances.
And me at the same entrance.
They used natural caves and built on top!
View. Maybe I should point out that this is the only Mayan site by the coast that they know of.

Awesome being so close to the beach seeing this.
Archaeologists are still working to preserve and understand the remains.
Very hot weather to walk around in, very humid (basically a tropical climate) so to find this was a very welcome surprise and a spot on break in our exploring.
You just had to get down these dangerous stairs first...
