After the events of Avengers one, the Stratiegic Homeland Intervention Enforcement: Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D.) needs a team of agents to find out and fix alien events. This team includes May, Daisy, Simmons, Fitz, and the man who lives, Agent Phil Coulson. This show follows the events of this team of many different skill and has many tie ins to the MCU movies.
S.H.I.E.L.D has now began a fresh start after the event of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Phil Coulson now the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D and staying in the shadows with new recruits, it's up to him and his team to stop HYDRA from taking scientific weapons to create terrorist attacks.
The one thing I truly love about this show is how it never leaves a plot point hanging. Everything is there for a reason and the writers know that. You know that everything will get put together at the end of a story arc but the real puzzle is about how they'll fit it together to win.
Some plot points are left sitting there for quite a while so always remember what's been there before as it will get used!
The Avengers movie wasn't loved for its mind bending plot line or realistic character development. It was so damn hot because of a stellar cast, mind blowing graphics and electric chemistry between the superheroes.
This TV show has none of that. You might've expected something at least on par with Whedon's previous works but the apple fell so far away from the tree you would've thought it was an Asylum parody.
The leading man is a cardboard cutout of clichés. Him and the supporting cast is new and it shows. Their terrible acting is preceded only by their terrible dialogue. In an era of clever/relatable/tearjerking/rage inducing TV shows, it's a wonder how the writers thought they could get away with this.
