This Document serves both as a record of a project on a 1984 Saab 900, and as a reference for do-it-yourselfers who wish to convert from automatic to manual shift. These notes apply only to the 1979-1993 Saab 900 including the. 1994 convertible. The project these notes are based on was completed in. December 1998
If you are in love with the car, then buy a parts car for $50 and swap yourself. I converted a 1990 Saab 900S Automatic (with a burned out BorgWarner (junk) transmission) to a 5 speed manual. I paid $50 for each car and did the work myself in the driveway. My cost on parts etc plus a lift was about $600.
The key thing to understand is that any year 5-spd will bolt up to any C900 engine. However If you have more interest in the SAAB manual gearbox, the manual is still available from the dealer for around $20. There is really no to look at. 11 Jun 2008 A P plate Scarab green auto car with the full aero bodykit. I thought it might be an annie but it doesn't have annie seats. Engine seems good on it (110k)and the bodywork is in better nick than my Aero(and my favourite colour). Best of all it's cheap. How difficult would it be to convert it to manual, using parts
