The tech tree in Galactic Civilizations III is broken up into 4 categories (assuming you're playing as those sentient apes on Sol 3, different species have I also rush buy a colony ship right off the bat so I can get a leg up on those aliens in getting more planets.
So I played my first game (of GC ever btw) as Yor and rocked a game at "challenging". Felt like Yor was a bit of a powerhouse, with being able to build population and not spending any planet space on food, so I thought I'd give humans a try. Take the pragmatic ideology point and get the 3 free constructor vessels, upgrade those into colony ships. If your home system has only 1 planet, wait until the next turn and send ur colony ship to the nearest suitable planet once your sensor ship is done. Use your 3 new colony ships with 0 pop and go get
