THERMOCOUPLE TYPES. A Thermocouple is a sensor made from two dissimilar metals. When these two metals are fused together at one end they create a junction. When the junction experiences changes in temperature, a very small voltage is created (see millivolt chart) which corrospondes to a temperature reading.
