7 May 2004 What are your thoughts in comparing nikon f2 to a canon f-1 in the 70-80's era. I've tried to do some research but a lot of the reviews compare only new eos versus f-5 etc. I would like to know your thoughts and experience on the old Manual cameras. All I know is that back then.Nikon was the pro's choice
12 Dec 2014 I was just mentioning that in some cameras the fastest speeds are often stepless even if they are not advertised by the manual, by virtue of the curtain gap settings. This mode of 1959 Nikon F is to the Canonflex; 1971 Nikon F2 is to the Canon F-1; 1980/81 Nikon F3 is to the Canon New F-1. Feb 9, 2015 #
A year after a series of sequential launches from a few top camera manufacturers, most noticeable was the Nikon F-3 and the Pentax's LX , both in early segment of the 1980. the photographic community was anxiously awaiting for the successor of the Canon original F-1, of which its 10 years product cycle was due, and

A-1: the FD body I like Of course I also have a FTB, the so called FTb"n", or second series, 1975, with the original user's manual with the name of the original owner: [?IMG] It's an excellent

Great for: Inexpensive, tough professional manual-focus, auto- and manual-exposure Nikon for use with manual and most AF lenses. Great for long automatic night exposures many minutes long. The F3 works with many bizarre finders and focus screens, if you'e a whacko. Not for: Autofocus, not convenient for use with most
I really like the Canon F1N because everybody has a Nikon. I especially like it because the lenses are cheaper than nikon lenses. And some would argue Canon lenses are better. They are however not compatible with there digital cameras. I just shoot film anyway.
