Injection Molding of Blends. Section 4—Handling Glass-Reinforced Resins. The precautions in handling glass-reinforced Zytel® nylon are generally the same as for unreinforced nylon. Precautions for the latter are discussed in detail in Section 5 (“Handling of Molding Resin") of the molding manual titled Molding DuPont.
Fast injection fill speeds (1–3 s), especially in thin sections. Slow injection rates are desirable for thick section parts molding. • Fast injection speed improves general surface appearance. High injection speed is necessary to glass-reinforced or otherwise nucleated nylon resins. • Screw speeds adjusted to result in screw

Zytel® HTN crystallizes rapidly and can be successfully molded over a broad range of mold temperatures: • HTN51 PPA 80 to 180 °C (175 to 355 °F). • HTN52 PPA 90 to 130 °C (195 to 265 °F). • HTN54 PPA 90 to 130 °C (195 to 265 °F). • HTN92 PPA 90 to 110 °C (195 to 230 °F). • HTN55 PPA 70 to 130 °C (160 to 265 °F).
Composition and Properties. Zytel® nylon resins are thermoplastic polyamides having properties that place them high on the list of engineering plastics. Zytel® nylon resins are tough and withstand repeated impact. They are highly resistant to abrasion and to most chemicals. Molded articles retain their shape at elevated

General Information. Resin Description. All the resins within the Zytel® HTN family are based on similar, but structurally different semicrystalline, partially aromatic nylon copolymers. The compositions made from these nylon copolymers have been grouped into the 51 series, 52 series, 53 series and 54 series. The Zytel®
Zytel® nylon resins may be reinforced with glass fibers and a variety of additives for enhanced property performance. For detailed molding information, refer to the Zytel® nylon resin molding guide. For additional information on safety, health, and environmental concerns, refer to the MSDS or call Dial DuPont First at.
