Smart Guides are not showing when I use Adobe Illustrator CC. There were several posts in this forum that suggest turning of "snap to grid" and double checking the preferences that smart guides are on. Any chance you might have have hit Cmd(Ctrl)-U which is the toggle for Smart
15 Feb 2017 Change the guide from horizontal to vertical, or vice versa, by holding down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) as you click or drag the guide. Align the guide with the ruler ticks by holding down Shift as you drag the guide. The guide snaps to the grid if the grid is visible and View > Snap To > Grid is selected.

14 Jun 2012 Rulers and guides are an often overlooked feature of Photoshop - there isn't that much use for them when editing photos or creating original artwork but for units you want here – pixels, centimetres, inches – just type is after the figure, eg: 450 px, 4 cm or 3 in (note: you can type inches or in but not “)
The guides option is not selectable because you have no guides created. To create guides: Your rulers are already activated, but if they weren't you'd press Ctrl + R to show them. Click on the ruler and drag it out to wherever you want the guide to go.
