Rikuo Nura appears to be an average middle school student. All other summaries I found about this show seemed rather boring, but I gave the show a chance anyway and I don't regret it. Maybe it's not one of those anime that get you hooked on episode 1, but it still doesn't take too long.
Show has 2 seasons, after that you have to read manga, the anime does successful job in making you interested enough to pick up the manga. Give it a chance.
Rikue is 1/4 yokai (demon) and 3/4 a human. He tries to hide that fact from his human friends. But at the same time he has demon comrades. He tries to protect them both, while embracing the fact that he's both human and a yokai. He grows stronger throughout the show, anime basically follows his fights as a yokai.
