efficient way to transfer electromagnetic energy. WAVEGUIDES are essentially coaxial lines without center conductors. They are constructed from conductive material and may be rectangular, circular, or elliptical in shape, as shown in figure 3-17. Figure 3-15.—Fields confined in two directions only. Figure 3-16.—Fields
A shielded rectangular conductor can also be used and this has certain manufacturing advantages over coax and can be seen as the forerunner of the planar technologies (stripline and microstrip). However, planar technologies really started to take off when printed circuits were introduced. These methods are significantly
26 Jun 2015 Advantages of Waveguides. Completely shielded; provides good isolation. Transmit high powers; Low loss. Waveguides can bend if required in a desired application.
A waveguide is a special form of transmission line consisting of a hollow, metal tube. The tube wall provides distributed inductance, while the empty space between the tube walls provide distributed capacitance: Figure below. Wave guides conduct microwave energy at lower loss than coaxial cables. Waveguides are

WAVEGUIDES are essentially coaxial lines without center conductors. They are constructed from conductive material and may be rectangular, circular, or elliptical in shape, as shown in figure 1-3. Waveguide Advantages Waveguides have several advantages over two-wire and coaxial transmission lines.
yesterday i found some advantages/disadvantages in literature of circular waveguides, but i dont know if i can translate these into cavity resonators: advantages: TE01 mode in circular waveguide has the lowest attenuation per unit length of waveguide hence suitable for distance waveguide transmission.
A waveguide may have rectangular, circular or elliptical cross section. The rectangular waveguide is most commonly used for relatively short connections. Compared to the coaxial lines waveguides have significant advantages. But in practice, these advantages can be used only at frequencies higher than 1 GHz effectively.
Benefits or advantages of Waveguide. Waveguides have several advantages over coaxial and two wire transmission lines. Following are the benefits or advantages of Waveguide: ?Waveguide supports EM mode propagation with lower losses.
