You actually have more control driving a manual. When driving uphill, listen to the engine. You'll know you need to change down a gear. The engine will start labouring. You change down a gear and accelerate accordingly depending how steep the incline will determine how low a gear you will have to go. Coming down
Press down lightly on the gas while you start to raise the clutch. Release the emergency brake as soon as you feel the car start to grab and move forward. Continue to accelerate and completely release the clutch. Practice driving uphill from a red light or stop sign.
