A man heading towards Rameshwaram via Chennai express to immerse his late grandfather's ashes unwillingly gets caught amidst goons after helping their boss's daughter and them board the train.
Rahul embarks on a journey to a small town in Tamil Nadu to fulfill the last wish of his grandfather: to have his ashes immersed in the Holy water of Rameshwaram. En route, he meets a woman hailing from a unique family down South. As they find love through this journey in the exuberant lands of South India, an unanticipated drive awaits them.
This film taught me two things #1)Indians can watch any pile of crap if it has a big star in it #2)SRK can't do comedy .

This film is bad in so many ways,even for Rohit Shetty's standards. I'm not against slap-stick when it is done in a subtle way .I liked golmal but this film is not even funny in any aspect . SRK tries too hard to be funny and fails miserably. Deepika's south accent is horrible. There is one scene in this film where the actors try to communicate through singing..believe me, that is not funny, I even felt embarrassed watching that scene.Some scenes are even lifted shamelessly from various south movies. The only good thing about this movie is the cinematography.

Calling this pile of garbage a movie is an insult to film making. Forget going to a theatre this film is not even worth watching on a DVD!!!
I went to watch this film to see comedy which Rohit Shetty is known for. But I wish SRK should limit to his serious role as he lacks timing and click when doing comic roles. The whole film seems to be made to cash in on the SRK myth; I do not see why Rohit did this, but it will definitely drag the film.

In the entire duration, what I was watching was, SRK's over acting and his efforts to act. I mean, we have seen good movies from him like Chak De India but this was terrible. Total disappointment. He is still doing what he was doing twenty years ago when he was young, that was right then but now, it has become unacceptable as he looks old.

Deepika is average despite all her efforts to show some acting skills. Deepika could have played the role even better as she is from the same place which she is portraying in the film. However, the problem seems that she was not natural, rather, she tried, had she not, it could have been better.

SRK fans may like the movie but for an average viewer like me who went for complete comedy, it would not meet the expectation.
The movie chugs along for most of its 2 hours and 20 minutes searching for comedy and characters in a frantically overplotted story.
