Well, these are my thoughts on the matter, of course is only my opinion after all. I was bored and I wrote this to share my thoughts and maybe discuss the issues exposed if someone has different ideas :P I made a list to know as what approximate levels (playing normally and not grinding) you get access to master with
very handy guide about masters and characters for BoF 3 and I'm looking for a similar guide for BoF 4. As these forums don't seem to have one I wondered if somebody knew about such a guide, maybe on another page. Some help would be greatly appreciated.:) P.S.: I remember that Kryrik (?) used to be/is the best master,

Unlike in Breath of Fire III, you do not earn spells based on how many levels you spend serving under a certain master. Instead, you earn them when you complete specific tasks. This makes it a lot easier to play around with your character's statistics and bonuses. Two masters, Momo and Stoll, raise certain stats without

Of course Nina's never going to be a physical powerhouse and Clay/Cray is never going to be a good magic user, but other than that you're pretty much free to develop characters as you see fit.
I can't speak for Gyosil, Lyta and Bunyan. Lyta requires that you have Gyosil in your master list and Bunyan requires all the other masters. Problem is Gyosil's requirement is ridicioulous. Especially since the fishing game in BOF4 sucks. If the same engine as in BOF3 was used I might have considered
Masters on Breath of Fire IV are NPCs who help the protagonists by teaching them different skills and changing their stat growth during level up. Twelve of such masters can be found in game. 3 Breath of Fire III.
For Breath of Fire IV on the PlayStation, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Recommended Masters".
Well basically each master has its own benefits. Combine this with your characters setup growth rate and you'll know which is best. In other words, since Nina & Ursala are primarily magic based set them up with the Abess in Chek when you get to her, and Rwolf until you make it that far. Set Ryu, Ershin, & Scias up with Una
