At the dawn of the 20th century, a band of adventurers are part of an expedition to prove the existence of a lost world isolated from the modern world. Disaster happens and the band find themselves trapped and isolated in this dangerous land with only the help of a young wild woman who was stranded in the land herself as a child. Together, the band fight to survive against the fearsome dinosaurs and other dangers that land has as they search for a way to escape.

kinda reminds me of the old 90's show 'Land of the Lost' or the Jurassic Park Trilogy. Nonetheless it's a great show full of action and adventure. Unlike other adventure series of the same (ie: Sheena, Land of the Lost..etc..) this show has got a good cast, and great story lines.
At a time when I long for the simpler, more innocent days of television The Lost World is certainly welcome. My generation (the twenty-somethings) has a gargantuan deficit of morality. Shows like this that are not entirely about sex or witch craft are a sigh of relief. I watch this show daily and am thoroughly entertained no matter how far-fetched or cheesy it is. Wake up everyone! We don't have to have million dollar special effects or even shows with an iota of probability to have an enjoyable program! Let's enjoy the simpler things even if they are a little goofy. It's a darn shame that there will be no new episodes of this show.
Yes, it is based off the book of the same name. It is essentially the same story, with little changes. The character of Veronica was not featured in the book, and is a character original to the television series. a5c7b9f00b
