Apr 6, 2011 The problem. A couple of days ago, I tried viewing a form from HMRC that has active text or form areas (for example: www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/cf10.pdf). You can enter text and then print it**. Problem was that it opened in all my available pdf readers on any of the linux distro's I use with this: "Please wait.
Try Master PDF Editor (proprietary). The free version is good for viewing, but for editing probably not (I read that it leaves watermarks). You can also use the outdated, unsupported, probably very insecure, old Adobe Reader 9 for Linux.
If I try to open it in Linux Mint LMDE (based on Debian testing) using Reader 9.4.2 (the latest for Linux) or the same version 8 as above but for Linux on Mepis 8 (based on Debian Lenny) then I get the 'PDF won't display (please wait)' message. It same problem Kpdf on Mepis and whatever the default pdf
