Following the death of a witness in a court case, Dr. Lee Rosen leads a team of "Alphas", (advanced human beings) who have have a number of special skills that makes them a formidable team. As Rosen mentors them and teaches the team to harness their considerable skills, they begin to realize that there are powerful forces behind the courthouse murder, including one of their own.
Alphas is a science fiction drama focusing on a team that investigates people with supernatural abilities.
I have spent a couple of days looking at all episodes in both seasons. I'm sorry it is over. I would very much wanted to se more. I liked this.
I look at much during the days I have to spend my time in bed, and this one, Alphas, was very entertaining. Probably not the all time best series but still a very good one. I liked it a lot. I almost never give anything a 10 - neither a good 10 or a bad 10. This one got an 8, almost a 9.
If you have opportunity and time do spend some time with all the characters in Alphas - it's worth it.
Entertaining and fun to watch, but the Alphas are a nice retelling of the X-Men story. Dr. Rosen is a copy of Professor Xavier. The characterizations are well done, starting with developed persona and relationships. It will be interesting to get the back stories as the series unfolds.
All the characters not only have the Alpha gifts, but are OCD and otherwise mentally challenged. The best example is the nerdy Alex. He has no connection to normal human interaction and is obsessed with a particular activity.
Bottom line, I enjoyed this and will continue to watch, but I kept thinking of X-Men.
