Default 1/4 Mile Track time Manual vs Auto Drag racers use a two-speed automatic transmission so that no time is spent in a gear shift (since there will only be one gear shift in a quarter mile of distance, anyway.)
1 Oct 2014 There's a catch here, and it's a big catch: those crazy numbers are with the new 8-speed automatic. The 7-speed manual-equipped Z06 does zero to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds. That's right: the auto is faster. Anyone else wanna hate on the autobox now? Hot Rod's report
