An ordinary man must embark on a search to find his missing wife that leads him to an abandoned house where a mysterious family lives who harbor an evil secret within the house and themselves.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard[a] is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom, released in January 2017 for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and in May 2018 for the Nintendo Switch (Japan). Following the more action-oriented Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7 returns to the franchise's survival horror roots, emphasizing exploration. The player controls Ethan Winters as he searches for his wife in a derelict plantation occupied by the cannibal Baker family, solving puzzles and fighting enemies. It is the first main series game to use the first-person view.
Let's start with the cons of the game first. Like most Resident Evil games, there are some puzzles to solve and obstacles to get through, but they aren't quite as strenuous as the previous entries; also, there aren't a whole lot of them which is sad because I love solving puzzles when I'm playing a horror game. I'm going to be a little nit-picky here, but you don't get enough room in your inventory. Fortunately, you can find backpacks to increase some space. You can also find storage cases to put away items you can save for later or don't really need like keys or herbs.
And now the pros. I really like the first-person perspective in this game; it really makes you feel like you are in this nightmarish world. The monsters, also known as the Molden, are, by far, the coolest-looking things I've ever seen. Though, I do wish that there was more variation to these creatures. There are four, but that's it. The use of VHS tapes is a clever feature. They basically give you clues throughout your journey. The graphics are beautiful to look at, probably one of the best graphics I've ever seen in any Resident Evil game.
Overall, I had a great time playing this game! I think this is way better than Operation Raccoon City and certainly better than Umbrella Corps. If you are a survival horror fan, check it out! You won't be disappointed.
A good game that is effective. It creates the Survival Horror Experience and does a nice job. The game feels scary. The graphics are good. The villains of the game are awesome, some are even memorable. I enjoyed exploring the house in the game, learning the ways in and out of the place. It was a different kind of Resident Evil game, but I liked it. Capcom did a awesome job with it.
