20 Oct 2017 I bought a Pentax K10D DSLR just so I could play with my film-era Pentax lenses on it. It's fun! I'm still working out some challenges in shooting the K10D with manual lenses. One is that I often The K10D is meant for autofocus lenses and as such offers little in the way of focusing help (like a microprism).
19 Oct 2007 Of course, i had to get used again to fully manual operations (focus and f-stop), but the "old" reflex from the F1 times came out I was really impressed by the overall quality of the image (the Murano glass picture in my previous post has not been retouched, just cropped ), the sharpness of the lens and the
On the installation instructions at: www.focusingscreen.com/work/k7en.htm there is the statement: Penatx [sic] ISTD/K7/K10D/K20D change focusingscreen will not influence AF-Focus and focus point operate. So it seems to be working with autofocus.
Continuous AF. 0.183 second. This mode usually shows no speed increase with our static subject; we have no way to measure performance with moving subjects. Manual focus. 0.181 second. For most cameras, shutter lag is less in manual focus than autofocus, but usually not as fast as when the camera is "prefocused".
16 Aug 2010 I'm trying to use a 50 mm lens on my k10d. It is from my film camera so it is manual. I am pretty sure I have used it before, but now when I try to use it the camera just says F-- on the screen, like it isn't reading that the lens is attached or something. It is definitely clicked into place correctly. Does anybody know
25 Jul 2007 I've never used an SLR before my current Pentax K10D, so please forgive what is a very newbie question :) Basically, I now have a little collection of old manual lenses which fit, but the camera doesn't seem to be able to do any exposure metering. That is, on the fully manual mode, normally there is a little
The K10D's autofocus system uses a TTL phase-matching system (called SAFOX VIII by Pentax) with 11 available AF points spread throughout the central portion of the frame. A three-position switch to the left side of the lens mount (as viewed from the rear) puts the camera into Single AF, Continuous AF or Manual focus
(3) my experience with the K10D was that it tended to overexpose photographs with my old manual lenses, so I used to underexpose compared to what the meter told me to do - generally by 2/3 EV (but obviously you also need to adjust this depending upon the subject matter). The K-7 seems to be more
There are two drawbacks when using manual focus lenses on the K10d. - Lenses with automatic diaphragm actuation need to have an "A" setting on the diaphragm ring in order for the camera to be able to meter in automatic mode with aperture priority (Av). It means that old Pentax K and Pentax M bayonet
Pentax K10D + 18-55mm + 50-200mm. How do the quality of these lenses compare? Is manual focus still practical? On the Pentax board they said that manual focus is difficult without a microprism/split-prism focusing screen. They recomend a Katz Eye focussing screen. But I've read here the the K10 will
