A computer game character takes on physical form to destroy a player who nearly beat him but quit the game in between.
Absolutely boring and unentertaining! Waste of money, time, and caused a headache! We went out to watch this first day of its release and had an inkling that it would be any close to this boring, we would have suvaved away from it. Right from the beginning where spoof attempts were rubbished to bringing in Rajnikant to the frame, there is absolutely no connection what so ever. The script was absolutely lost and humor was untimely thrown in. So many dragging pieces all over, looked like the director was constipated. Anubhav Sinha is blacklisted from my set of directors. Even if you have to waste your evening to watch Bodyguard or the worst of Hindi movies, do that but don't watch this completely awful movie.
I originally gave this movie 6.5/10 but IMDb forced me to give 7/10. It is really sad that Indian people don't recognize the hard work that has gone into making the movie. Every other Hollywood critic has either praised the movie or given it an above average rating. That is because Indian audience has not yet grown up. They think that films like this will be automatic flops even before the release. Indian cinema has taken advantage of this misunderstanding and started producing remakes of Hollywood,South Indian movies which become Superhits??? A good example you can find in Salman Khan's recent movies(Wanted,Dabangg,Ready,Bodyguard)all of which,in my opinion are really cheap movies which are downgrading the level and standard of Indian Cinema every day. But a man steps in to break the chaos. To make a film never seen before in Indian Cinema. To bring the standard of Indian Cinema higher and YO we get Ra.One. Frankly speaking Ra.One becoming a super hit matters a lot because it will give innovation to young directors to experiment, to gamble with new genres in India, which by the way is the exact reason for the level of Indian Cinema downgrading.
Negatives- Ra.One lacked 1)A good story, 2)Dialogues, 3)Screenplay, 4)Good editing of songs 5)And had some useless scenes. Thats about the negatives.
Positives- Ra.One had 1)The best special effects ever seen in Indian Cinema Before. 2)Good Acting. Note(SRK as G.One was a bit unconvincing.) 3)Great Action sequences 4)Good theme 5)Good songs(not editing)
To sum it all up it is a decent flick to watch that will surely keep you entertained in your seats. Don't go expecting a good story or dialogs but definitely expect entertainment in its full value. Don't be discouraged by people saying negative about the film. Also people saying it didn't gross more than bodyguard, here is news for you. Bodyguard- Lifetime gross-Rs 140 Crores Ra.One-1st Full week worldwide gross- Rs 192 Crores Overall Ra.one is definitely worth a watch 6.5/10
You don't have to be an enthusiast of Bollywood to embrace RA.ONE, but it sure would help.
Yes, the soundtrack has two tracks by Akon, Chammak Chhallo & Criminal. Both have been composed by Vishal Shekhar. Although the Ra.One Album features various versions of both the songs. Both the song will also feature in the movie.
