Out of the Dark è un thriller fisiologico basato sulla comune paura infantile del buio. Dopo aver visto un film di paura, un ragazzo inizia ad avere allucinazioni che trasformano la sua camera da letto, una volta confortevole, in un luogo di incubi. Si domanda se quello che vede sia solo un trucco della sua immaginazione, o se è tutto tangibilmente, orripilante, reale. Out of the Dark chiama i suoi spettatori a chiedere se le loro paure più banali sono veramente irrazionali, o se ciò che sembra impossibile può effettivamente essere una realtà.
