Time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time.
When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen the future, Rip Hunter will desperately try to prevent certain events from happening, by time-traveling; Now Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a desperate group of heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat - not only is the planet at stake, but our timeline itself. The Great Question being asked here is can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
This show is idiotic. I don't know who writes it.. a bunch of 12 year old kids with below average IQ? Acting sucks.. it's as if there is no director at all..
No redeeming qualities. I wish there was only the Flash and Arrow at this point. Supergirl and this crap ruins the universe.
Had to stop watching after episode 3. HAD TO. I hated all 3 episodes, pretty much every single aspect of them. Made me hate characters I previously liked or loved. I absolutely loved Sarah in the Arrow, and I liked the professor when he first showed up.
BAH, don't even know what to say. The show makes no sense at all, logic is not something the writers have. I'm hoping that there will be no crossovers between this and the Flash and Arrow.
Okay, this show is stupid. But perhaps I watch it because it is stupid. After a heavy workload, I sometimes watch an episode to unwind. It doesn't need any brain cell, so I can completely relax myself. It's not all that boring, some episodes are quite interesting—the crossover episodes; the one with Apollo 13 and NASA; the one when Ray, Sara and Kendra stranded in the '50s; the last three episodes of Season 2, especially the season finale; and some other episodes. But the quality varies wildly from one episode to another.
Sara, Amaya and Zari are more beautiful than Charlie's Angels, and much better—they don't work for any boss, they are their own bosses. The actors who play the three main villains of Season 2 are so far the best three actors of this show. When highly competent actors play villains and ordinary actors play the good guys, it somehow makes me—to an extent—enjoy watching the villains but don't care much about the good guys.
I don't know whether they have a fight choreographer on set or not. If they don't, they really really need to hire one; if they've already hired one, they really really need to fire this one and hire a better one.
The one thing intrigues me most about this show is its similarity with BBC's series Doctor Who, here are some examples: A Doctor Who episode is about vampires in 16th century Venice, then they turn out not to be vampires, but aliens. A Legends of Tomorrow episode is about a vampire in 19th century London, then it turns out not to be a vampire, but a follower of a cult.
In Doctor Who, the protagonist—The Doctor—belongs to a special subset of an ancient alien civilization, this special subset is called the Time Lords. In Legends of Tomorrow, one of the main characters—Rip Hunter—used to be a member of a council of individuals who call themselves the Time Masters.
In Doctor Who, by looking into the Time Vortex, the Time Lords monitor all of time and space—everything that ever happened or ever will. In LoT, by looking into the Oculus, the Time Masters monitor all of time and space—everything that ever happened or ever will.
In Doctor Who, the TARDIS' matrix once became a woman, and she kissed the Doctor. (TARDIS is the Doctor's equivalent of Waverider.) In LoT, the AI system of the Waverider once manifested as a woman in Rip's mind, and Rip kissed her.
The list goes on
Despite so many similarities, I still think they are quite different shows. The Doctor is a mad raggedy man in a blue box who would never kill; he despises guns and violence. In contrast, Sara, Mick, sometimes Amaya, would not hesitate to kill their enemies. The Legends are freedom fighters, warriors. The Waverider is armed with missiles and has an armory.
After all, Legends of Tomorrow is an acceptable entertainment.
Rex Tyler is a superhero called Hourman. He debuted in 1940, during the "Golden Age" of comics. Rex had developed a pill, called Miraclo, which gave him the strength and power of ten men, but only for an hour at a time. Rex had no time travel powers or technology, although a later version of Hourman, an android built by Tyler's company in the far future, did have a ship which could travel through time, as well as other time related powers.
The Justice Society of America, or JSA, is the first superhero team. Debuting in November of 1940, the team brought together several superheros which DC comics had published adventures about, including Hourman, Hawkman, the original versions of the Flash (Jay Garrick), and the Atom (who had no shrinking powers but was just a short man who was a good fighter), Green Lantern, as well as several other heroes. It may be helpful but is not strictly necessary. While all the characters on Legends have previously appeared on Arrow or Flash, this show has a mostly new plotline. It may be helpful to watch the two part Arrow-Flash crossover "Legends of Yesterday" and "Legends of Today" since those episodes introduce the primary antagonist for Legends of Tommorow's first season. a5c7b9f00b
