For a while I've been running a Q9300 on my (EVGA) 790i Ultra board at 3.0GHz and 1600MHz FSB. However The only thing that would work was my old settings for my old CPU. They were a Anyways, following my early failures I lived with the 3.0GHz and opened up a forum at www.overclock.net.

This guide is to first start with a stabile 790i and then to proceed on to some overclocked settings. The 790i is an enthusiast board and has posed a challenge to many who have used it. I want to start off looking at hardware compatability. The problem many have been having with the board is the memory
I just got a 790i Ultra FTW with 2 Geforce GTX 690's in SLI. That's just a little info for now to get you started until more is known and I, and/or others, can help you with more detailed settings and a BIOS template if you need. .
